Wiring throttle pedal up to the Exocet!
Ik it's an old video, but I followed it and pulled mine from the top but my manifold stud that you talked about that was the most prone to breaking off, broke off in the head of mine. What's the best way to get that stud out? It's just maybe 1/16th of an inch from the surface and so far the extractor I've used dulled itself in 2 attempts to take out the stud.
@@ashtonstraatmann4808 just forget about it, I just didn’t friends, welded a nut onto it and couldn’t get it out, it’s at an angle also which makes it terrible, we put his back together with it broken
Where did you get the engine support bar from?
@@vivakelall5088 you can get them on Amazon for cheap
Is there a routine before pulling the trans? Does the car have to go into nuetral? Or is park still okay
doesn't matter

Thanks for the video. I am doing the same on my VW Jetta 2.0 TSI. How do you ensure the cams are centered correctly ( not to near the forward or back of engine ) before zipping down the cam tray bolts ? Thanks
@@davidroser4719 line up your copper marks on the chain or look at the marks on the cam and they should be relatively close to 12oclock until you put the chain on with your copper links
@@carwerks101 Thanks for the quick reply. I got the chains & timing all worked out. But the cams can move so I am trying to get the lobes aligned with the rockers, - is there a procedure or just eyeballing it ? Does it have to be perfect ?
That looks like so much fun.
Great video! is there any reason why the inner axle stubs need to be removed? I'm just wanting to do a clutch job
@@te71se you can’t get it past the engine with it installed
@@carwerks101 gotcha - thanks!
I'm looking to do this on a B6 Passat TSI with the 02Q, do you know if there are any B6 specific snags to look out for? otherwise, it all looks to be very similar to the Mk5/6 Golf. At least my oil pan is metal that I can rest a block of wood and a jack under to lower and support the engine
I really don’t want you to waste my time on how you’re doing the bathroom that’s not why I came to your channel
@@user-ie1kn5iz1e ok, bye!

How many miles you get out of that clutch and she still rolling?
Those phasers can wear out in quite a few ways. Running lean or hot (especially when there is a vacuum leak) and Far too infrequent oil changes. I will add that, if you replace the Magnets sooner than later (because later means you should replace BOTH the magnet and phaser) - then, you'll have a much longer life out of the phasers. The INA Magnets are on FCPEuro for under $30/Ea and at least you get credit for them should you keep your VW for longer.
Thank you !
Is the solution the PTC heater or replacing the conpressor or both?
Ac compressor
I got this same issue, ac no longer working...
You did not explain how to set the screen orientation to move from vertical to horizontal vis vasa.
you just turn it, I always lock the screen because its annoying
Thanks, I was feeling very much an idiot, following your advice got the job done.
You are an amateur mechanic.
takes one to know one
@@carwerks101 You made a mess in that car and you was almost blinded by the brake fluid. You look so annoyed and full of yourself, as if you are so knowledgeable and made us a favour by "showing" us how to do the bleeding of the clutch. In reality, you showed how to NOT do the job and how non-professional you are. Try some modesty.

I couldn’t for the life of me get the 2 harness cables to seperate -_- update: on my mark5 gti, to release the connectors I had slide them forward really hard to unlock them since the locked position was out when I went down there. Other than that, this was very very easy for m. now it’s time for rebuilding my whole front end
Thx again. Is there anyway to do it on the ground?
yeah, you just do it on the ground
I’m assuming this is the same process for an 2009 Audi a4 Quattro 2.0t CAEB engine?? Looks to be the same engine just that there positioned differently??
yeah its the same

Hi there, what is torque spec for tighten of 3 nuts on top of strut ? Thank you
Besides the look are they funcional “fake “ vs original ?
Thats been dropped in transit... Shouldn't have that amount of rock when new. It might drive ok for a while, but its not going to be a long life in the car.
Omg, no it wasn’t, get out of here with your false information, have the right mind to delete this comment
@@carwerks101 Lol. To be fair, there are a few different sorts out there. Some like those on diesel Mondeos (maybe yours is the same sort?) have a bronze bush type arrangement and they do indeed have some play from new. Most though have a bearing in the middle and they are zero free play from new and only allow tiny 2mm rock at the edge before they go in the bin,
Next time put hepa dust filters on .those filters your wearing are for paint vapors.
Is this similar process to do on tiguan 2009? Do i need to take out the transfer box then transmission? I watched ur trasnfer box video too.
thanks helped me a bunch with water pump removal
Great video. What would "the easy way" have been if you managed to open the cam-adjuster? Does "the easy way" means that you would not have been forced to pull the whole enginge cover off ?
I wonder how much easier this would be on a FWD golf with the manual park brake and key to start

Hello, are the hose adapters required for oil and water ?
Did you adjust the preload of the bearings on the diff? We had to take off 0.013" off the original shim thickness on our surface grinder to get the proper 0.2mm (0.008") preload
I called DMV and it doesn’t have to be a kit car. It can be a car built from new and used parts. So a hot rod, original body ect, they want bill of sales that’s all. It doesn’t not have to be a certified kit.
Correct
You can find the laser mark on the cam adjuster (bank 1 exhaust side) when you open the oil filler cap and look down in there. No need to unmount anything to identify 40deg ignition
I never removed the doge bone mount and if ya rotate the downpipe I can’t remember counter clockwise or cloak wise it slides right out
